Local artist Eve Hell is comfortable enough in the staying power of her outfit Eve Hell and the Razors that she has no qualms spitting in the eye of the gods and celebrating a fairly major milestone this weekend with a Saturday night show at Dickens. The reason? Ten years as an entity on the Calgary rock scene, surviving lineup changes, musical evolutions and shifting tastes and fashions." “The whole deal was trying to put 10 pounds of music in a five-pound bag and just use as many influences as possible.” That hasn’t always been to the advantage of the band, with Hell admitting that by branching out and straying from the straight-up rockabilly sound it tweaked some of the purists who are proud and protective of the music and its lifestyle.
